MEET THE CEO: Who We Are
LETTER FROM THE CEO
I am very excited to lead this new and unique type of consulting firm, focused on providing exemplary personable and affordable services to businesses who desire to think more strategically about the ways they operate, while also experiencing powerful growth in productivity for a relatively small investment. Even though I began my career in public accounting, I have spent the bulk of my time in industry learning companies from the inside out. My roles in the trenches and in financial leadership guided me to realize some consistent themes present in all or most companies.
I learned a long time ago that all businesses have bottlenecks and constraints in how information is obtained, processed and reported. From the corporate leadership/owner/investor/stakeholder side, there is a strong desire for speed with accuracy. From the operational side, there is an equally strong struggle to gather and process, which opens the eternal debate on just how many staff (and of what nature) are required to produce high-quality monthly KPIs and financials in the accurate and fast way to effectively run the business? When companies have not fully-embraced technology, or are rooted in legacy processes, the informational reporting demand can cause departmental bloat, still leaving a quality or expediency gap between the “Ask” and what is technically feasible.
No matter what size, structure or nature of company, I have always ended up resolving this particular issue throughout my career, as the finance department is generally in charge of turning data into useful information and then properly disseminating and communicating that intel, ensuring decisions can be quickly and effectively enacted. I learned through much trial and error that it always boils down to two variables…(1) People and (2) Processes. Sometimes, it involves hiring different or additional people with targeted expertise…sometimes, it simply involves tweaking processes and/or utilizing new technology to streamline and automate, thereby even allowing you to re-allocate or shed some of your human resources. The bottom line is, I greatly enjoy assessing this persistent and critical issue in every new and unique company, and ultimately resolving the discrepancy between what is needed to be successful…and where those companies currently sit today. The fact is, I enjoyed this type of creative problem-solving so much, it forced me to expand on the traditional discipline of financial accounting. What I am excited to bring to you is a hybrid discipline that fuses finance with technology, sprinkled with some fundamentals in human resources and industrial psychology. I have two goals in leading this venture: (1) I want to provide a simplistic and affordable pathway for organizational improvement for my clients, whether it be through acquiring specific expertise, or utilizing a different sort of technology and (2) I want to re-vitalize a more traditional way of doing business, centered more on genuine, long-lasting relationships, trust and mutual collaboration. I seek clientele not just for the first bullet point…but more importantly for the second. Embracing the notion of continuous improvement, my interaction with my clients does not end with the engagement. I truly endorse a partnership mentality to engage and re-engage again periodically over time. That means a relationship…not just a contract. I truly believe that information is the most valuable commodity in business, and my entire firm’s philosophy is predicated on that belief. I am truly excited to extend this offering to the business community, and look forward to offering this refreshing change in commercial approach one engagement and client at a time.
Sincerely,
Ryan W. Zavitz, CPA, CITP, CGMA
